A brief overview of Shadow Yoga, designed for new students. Serves as an entry point for interested students, and a prerequisite for learning the Shadow Yoga preludes. Open to all levels and backgrounds.

Introduction to Balakrama, the First Shadow Yoga Prelude

Preludes form the basis of learning in the Shadow Yoga system. 

The Balakrama, or “Step to Strength,” corrects blockages in the feet and lower structure through an emphasis on dynamic, weight-bearing activity. Patient engagement with the Balakrama builds strong, rhythmic breathing, internal firmness and suppleness in mind and body.
